So Father Joe's birthday was this past Sunday. Being the person that I am, I asked him if he wanted to go out to dinner. I already knew the answer because it's Father Joe we're talking about here. He had "this thing" haha.
I've known Father Joe for 6 years. Four of those were as a student. The fifth year I knew him as "my college priest". Sixth year? I've known him as the boss-man! I have meet several priests but none like Father Joe.
He has a way of catching your attention during his homily. And he definitely isn't afraid to tell you what you don't want to hear. But the thing that I appreciate the most about him is his love for the Church. We were talking in his office one day and he made the comment that he would have never become a priest if he didn't believe the Catholic Church was THE Church.
Not to mention he's one of the most hard working priests I have ever met! So, with that being said, here's a picture of Father Joe and I working...or posed like it, anyway.
(He didn't tell me to write this...promise)
Happy belated birthday to him and Slash from Guns N' Roses! Wishing Father many more birthdays (in Oxford, of course).
